Prevention is always less costly and less invasive than treatment. Our family preventive services include:
- Comprehensive exams — thorough evaluation of teeth, gums, bite, jaw, and soft tissue

- Gum disease screening & treatment — risk-based periodontal assessments and intervention
- Digital X-rays — taken only when clinically appropriate; lower radiation than traditional film

Pediatric-friendly visits
We welcome children of all ages and adapt every appointment to the child’s temperament and comfort level. First visits are calm and exploratory—we introduce instruments slowly, explain each step, and never rush. Parents are welcome chairside. Our goal is to build a positive dental relationship early so kids grow up without fear of the dentist.
For very young children (under age 3) or patients with complex developmental needs, we may refer to a trusted pediatric dental specialist—and we stay involved in coordination throughout.

Your first visit at Cherish Dental includes a complete health history review, appropriate digital imaging, a thorough oral exam, and a clear written treatment plan with cost estimates. No pressure to start anything that day. Most first visits take 60–90 minutes.

Family dentistry questions
How often should my child see the dentist?
Most children do well with a checkup and cleaning every six months, same as adults. If your child has a higher cavity risk or is undergoing sealant or fluoride treatment, we may recommend more frequent visits. We personalize the schedule based on what we see at each exam.
At what age should my child have their first dental visit?
We welcome children of all ages, including very young kids for their first introductory visit. Early visits help build comfort with the dentist before any treatment is needed and let us catch developing issues early. For children under 3 or with complex developmental needs, we may coordinate with a pediatric dental specialist.
Do you offer dental sealants for kids?
Yes. Sealants are thin protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth and are one of the most effective ways to prevent cavities in children and teens. We discuss sealants as part of your child’s preventive care plan when appropriate.
